Information on college admission and application processes
The National Association for College Admission Counseling) (NACAC), has created an online tool for students and families that is a key resource regarding the changes to the college admission and application processes resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. The tool includes information from colleges and universities nationwide on campus closures, deposit deadlines, and other admission-related changes.
Virtual Campus Tours
A campus tour is an essential part of the college search. First, campus tours help students to figure out and decide if a school is the right fit for them. Second, a college visit demonstrates interest.
Many colleges factor ‘Demonstrated Interest’ into consideration when making admissions decisions.
In other words, they are protecting their yield; yield in college admissions is the percent of students who choose to enroll in a particular college or university after having been offered admission. If you have not visited their campus and/or reached out personally to your local admission representative, they are often hesitant to accept you because they are not confident that you will actually accept their offer of admission, regardless of how impressive your application might be. During this pandemic, colleges have been focusing on increasing their online presence.

Colleges and universities track their applicants throughout the college application process. Therefore, you should visit the individual college websites on your list and sign in with the email address that you have designated for college applications. It is important to check your email frequently, when you receive an email from a college, please open it.
Keep in mind that the colleges track every single interaction they have with prospective students; this means they are tracking to see if and when you open their emails and when you look at their website and engage with their content on social media.
